A Note to Land Holders
It is critical that you know what is going on, the effects of trying to be acomidating, can effect your property for years. TO BE CLEAR, this is about FLOATING OYSTER BAGS! NOT under water growing.
A special note to our much loved watermen.
You may not see this is as a big deal. You may also be inclined to support this based on the fact that our community is a “Working Fishing Village” and working on the water is a way of life here. PLEASE READ:
This proposal just doesn’t bring oysters to the surface. True or not, it creates conflict in our community
Below are some things to consider for all of us on the in the area that are being talked about now.
I own a home on the Great Wicomico and Little Wicomico, is it now worth less?
Can I trust the watermen I love?
Can I trust the VMRC anymore?
Who is looking out for us that are not trying to financially benefit from this sort of thing?
Why are Floating Oyster Bag farms even allowed?
What about the view from the water of the land? isn’t that now obstructed?
